Featured Crew member: Ataniman Birima
Te Mana o Te Moana 2011 crew. Working in a boat-yard back home in Kiribati, his boss was asking him one day, if we would like to go on the voyage on a vaka. Ataniman agreed and joined a couple of months ago for his training. He is keen on learning and maintaining Pacific voyaging tradtions. It was already at school when the 26 years old learned that half of the oxygen comes from the ocean. This is the main reason for him to join the project: "We rely on that and we shouldn't spoil it...
